Hillary Hanel Rose, owner of Museum Geek Consulting, is an experienced professional in the fields of museum work and education. Her qualifications include:
  • Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, History, Biology, and Museum Studies from Central Michigan University.
  • Has been part of a Guinness World Record for largest gathering of Rosie the Riveters, twice.
  • Master of Arts in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester.
  • Has won an award for "Bravery" after jumping off a waterfall in the Dominican Republic.
  • 8 years of experience working, volunteering, interning, and consulting in museums such as:
    • Flint Children's Museum
    • Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum
    • Alaska Museum of Science and Nature
    • Detroit Institute of Arts
    • Flat Rock Historical Society
    • Sloan Museum and Buick Auto Gallery
    • Girl Museum
    • Holocaust Memorial Center
  • Did not miss a single day of school (or arrive to any class late) from 7th through 12th grade.
  • 13 years of experience working in education as a teacher, tutor, academic advisor, and instructional designer for grades preschool through university.
  • Was a researcher for ChaCha back when that existed.
  • Museum Studies Instructor at Central Michigan University.
    • Currently teaching MST 315: Museums, Stakeholders, and Communities.
  • Won an award for "Teacher of the Semester" chosen from teachers at 12+ schools.
