Education Program Services
- Comprehensive Education Program Creation: A program or programs will be created using your exhibits and appropriate collections/resources. Includes:
- Full description of program, script, copies of all resources, organized in a binder as well as electronic copy of all documents
- Program kit including all materials needed (outside of exhibits and artifacts)
- Aligned to curriculum standards to meet the needs of teachers and students
- Site visit to start the process
- Site visit after project is completed to train museum personnel
- Marketing materials to share with teachers and your community
- Programs may be scaffolded for various grade levels, lengths of time, or group sizes as requested
- Standards Alignment: Teachers often need to justify their field trips by connecting them to curriculum standards. The Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, and Michigan Curriculum Standards can be overwhelming. We can align your exhibits and programs to the appropriate standards which can help you market your museum to schools!
- Field Trip Process Development: Are you just starting to host school field trips, or hoping to grow your field trip program? We will create streamlined procedures for marketing, booking, hosting, and evaluating field trips. (This is often requested in conjunction with Comprehensive Education Program Creation.) Includes:
- All documents provided as hard copies in a binder and digital copies
- Spreadsheet for tracking field trips
- Paper field trip reservation forms
- Digital inquiry form for teachers to request field trips online
- Permission slips including photo release
- Marketing materials such as flyers, email templates, social media posts, brochures, teacher guide books
- Custom field trip hosting plan/documents to introduce your museum to students, share rules, orient chaperones, coordinate tours/exhibit rotations, etc.
- Paper and digital post-field trip surveys for teachers to evaluate the trip
- Site visit to start the process
- Site visit to implement the processes and train museum personnel
- Outreach Process Development: Many schools simply do not have the ability to take field trips. We will help you build a rich outreach program to be used in classroom visits and community outreach events. Includes:

- Aligned to curriculum standards to meet the needs of teachers and students

- Education Program Marketing: If you already have education programs and experience hosting field trips but are hoping to increase your impact, we will help you market your museum to educators! This package may include a digital and printable booklet of education/field trip offerings, flyers, social media posts, email templates, brochures, coupons, etc.
- Online Resource Development: Your museum has amazing things to offer teachers, students, and lifelong learners! We can organize your publications and digitize collections in partnership with your website administrator.
- National History Day Special: If you would like to support our future historians (now in grades 3-12) as they research and create their National History Day projects, we will help you to build resources that will be most helpful for young scholars!
